We are all in this together
It feels like a never-ending story: here we are again, two weeks in lockdown 2.0 trying to keep calm and cope with it. The mild temperatures of this autumn are so inviting to go outdoors and to enjoy romantic walks in the colourful nature so go out there and explore your surroundings! Walk. Just walk and let yourself discover the hidden gems of your area, look at those places that you never pay attention to. Slow down and listen to yourself. This is your chance to take nice photos or to make quick sketches of the place where you live. Why not to start learning some needlecraft or attempting some live painting? Those who can work from home are doing so and those who have to go to their workplace are taking extra care with their social interactions but we all need to make some time for ourselves and enjoy it; specially all the key workers that are keeping the country going as they feed us, they look after us, they educate our future generations and they protect us by putting themselves on the front line.
Artists will carry on creating because art is a healer. Music, photography, painting, writing...arts have always survived to the most catastrophic events in human history and they will survive to this pandemic as well. Craftsmanship is happening all around us so take the chance to support local businesses and producers buying from them. Our local communities need us more than ever and this is a great chance for getting involved. It doesn't matter if it is a click-and-collect system or ordering over the phone for home delivery but buying local goods is more sustainable for the environment and for the local economy so take the chance to contact craftsmen around you on-line and order from them as you may make great discoveries round the corner!
At the 1st Floor Gallery Picture Framing Studio we would like to thank all our customers for their support during these challenging times. And remember that you can get in touch with us via e-mail, on our website or by calling us on 01794367107.
